    Marion Johnson Day of Service

The Washington, DC Alumni Chapter proclaimed in 2018, the Marion Johnson Day of Service as a way to honor the life and legacy of this beloved chapter member. Marion was passionate about helping others, and what better way to channel her passion through a GREAT day of service. This annual event is where the chapter selects a day to participate together with their families in a service project serving those in need in the Washington, DC metro area.

Join the Washington, DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance, Inc. for their 10th Annual Hybrid 5K Run/Walk and Community Day at the St. James Wellness and Entertainment Complex located in Springfield, VA, or virtually at any location. If you choose the virtual option, the 5K run/walk can be held from any location. You can run, jog, or walk on a road, a trail, on a treadmill at the gym, or on a track. You can run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.

If you choose to join in person for a fun 5k walk/run in Springfield, VA, this will be a great opportunity for a morning run with fellow HBCU alumni, family, and friends. There is plenty of parking at the facility and overflow parking is available in adjacent areas.
